I finally made it to a Barons game.
Going to Regions Field was near the top of my Summer To-Do List, but there always seemed to be another event going on. Before moving back, if you would have told me Birmingham would have so much going on, I would have thought you were crazy. Alas, it took me until August.
We knew we wanted to go on Thursday: smaller crowd, $2 beer and wine specials, and a courtyard concert sponsored by Birmingham Mountain Radio and Tin Roof. This particular game was against the Huntsville Stars, the team I grew up watching, so my allegiances were tested. We root, root, rooted for the home team for more than 11 innings with the Stars claiming a final victory.
I feel like the normal crowd for baseball games is young families, but on Thursday night there were quite a few young professionals, further proving that Regions Field is the place to be.
As summer comes to an end, don’t miss your chance to cheer for the Barons this year!
How many games have you been to this season?
